Psychiatric services is an RHS-CAPS clinical program staffed by psychiatrists (physicians specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health problems).

Services include:

Psychiatric Services will be accepting students’ health insurance for their services.

For full time students, payment by health insurance companies for services delivered is generally considered payment in full.  Co-pays and deductibles are pre-paid as part of the student health fee.  Psychiatry Services are covered even if we do not participate with your insurance.

Part-time students who do not pay a health fee may use their health insurance, but will be required to pay applicable co-pays and deductibles.  Should a part-time student not have health insurance; the student will be billed at fee-for-service.  Need based discounts are available.

Initial appointments with the members of the psychiatry team take from 60 to 90 minutes. In these meeting, we will review your medical and mental health concerns. We will ask questions about your family history, your general development, and your feelings and functioning. Your psychiatrist may request your consent to get laboratory tests or past treatment records. At the end of the appointment, we will discuss treatment options: follow up visits may or may not be recommended.
