Community Consultation & Education Specialists

CAPS works with various departments within the university and select organizations and programs outside of the university to provide the best coordinated mental health care for our students.

CAPS has designated staff members who have close collaborative relationships with local hospitals, emergency rooms, inpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment programs, and various treatment facilities both locally and throughout the state of New Jersey.  The coordination of mental health care for our students is a top priority at CAPS.

Staff members at CAPS provide a wide variety of outreach and consultation services to students, faculty and staff of Rutgers University in New Brunswick / Piscataway, including a new staff member devoted specifically to suicide prevention.
